Titan Books to release 10th anniversary Halo art book

 

On October 18th, Titan Books will release Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds, a 192-page collection of art associated with the award-winning Xbox franchise. The hardback book will feature over 400 photos and illustrations–a must have for Halo fans!

Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds will retail for $29.99, and is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

Titan Books have acquired exclusive worldwide rights to publish Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds. The Art of Building Worlds is the ultimate gallery of the Halo universe, with over 400 images including sketches, commentary, and concept art from all stages of development, including characters, weapons, and sweeping landscapes as envisioned by more than thirty of the amazing artists behind the first ten years of Halo includingIsaac Hannaford, Shi Kai Wang, Frank Capezzuto and Jaime Jones . From the earliest concepts for The Pillar of Autumn and The Maw to the streets of New Mombasa, from Master Chief to Noble Six, here you’ll find unparalleled access to the artistic innovation of the Halo archive.

The award-winning Halo series of video games has sold more than 40 million copies and the franchise has generated over $2 billion to date. Halo games are bestsellers on both the original Xbox and Xbox 360 platforms. Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 were the top two selling games on Xbox, and Halo 3 and Halo: Reach are two of the bestselling games on Xbox 360. More than 3.3 billion hours of Halo gameplay has been logged by players while connected to Xbox LIVE.

Senior Commissioning Editor Laura Price acquired the rights from Microsoft. She said, “Halo is phenomenal. A fantastic game that looks simply incredible. The artworks we’ve been working with are masterpieces and having the artists’ commentary has been a real coup. Breathtaking.”

To launch this gorgeous hardback book, Titan will be working closely with Microsoft and 343 Industries to promote the title.

Martin Robinson, who helped organize and present all the works in the book, is an award-winning journalist and Features Editor at Eurogamer. Previously Content Editor at the UKoffice of IGN.com, Martin has been a keen tourist of the Halo universe. Over the last decade he has slain the entire Covenant several times over and saved the universe on more than one occasion.
