Splinter Cell: Conviction Collectors Edition Announced

I’ve been on a Splinter Cell run for a while. I’ve replayed Chaos Theory, re-purchased Double Agent for both Xbox 360 and Wii, I even tried the Splinter Cell: Essentials on PSP for a while. I just love this series, and I can’t wait to try out Ubisoft’s latest title in the Tom Clancy series, Splinter Cell: Conviction. What’s even better, Ubisoft announced today their special collectors edition for the Xbox 360 version of Conviction. Straight from the Splinter Cell website:

The Splinter Cell: Conviction Collectors Edition contains the game and manual, of course, along with the art book and the comic “Digging in the Ashes”, which is the prequel comic to the game. As far as in-game items, you’ll receive the MP5-SD3 and the Third Echelon outfit for multiplayer. You will also recieve two decals, one of the bullet goggles and the other being the Third Echelon emblem. Finally, you’ll receive a custom USB drive, size unknown, already pre-loaded with screenshots, storyboards, making of video, and more.

For anyone into the Splinter Cell series, this is a must have. Go out and reserve it so you don’t miss out. Splinter Cell: Conviction will be out for the Xbox 360 and PC on February 23, 2010.

Now all I need to do is grab the original Splinter Cell off Steam and see how it started…

Believe it or not, I have never played any of the Splinter Cell games. The steelbook case looks awesome though :)

If you like stealth based games, a la Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell’s not bad. But it’s less on the whole conspiracy theory and more on the actual stealth. It gets even technical sometimes with a light and sound meter to show you how much noise you’re making versus the background environment and how visible you are to the guards. With Conviction, however, they’re taking more of an action approach to stealth games where you don’t have to be stealthy, but if you want it’s everywhere around the map.
