New Fable Novel Coming in October

Author Peter David, “Writer of Stuff”, posted on his blog that his next novel “The Balverine Order”, an original story from the Fable video games universe, will be available October 5 — just in time for the third installment in the game’s franchise.

Set between Fable II and upcoming Fable III, “The Balverine Order” follows two friends, Thomas and and his servant James, as they set out in search of the mysterious creature, balverine. Hijinks ensue, and soon the two friends find themselves in a predicament that may be the death of them yet.

David is best known for his Star Trek novels, as well as his extensive comic book work with “The Incredible Hulk” and “X-Factor”. He’s also written the graphic novel “Halo: Helljumper” for the Halo video game series, as well as the Xbox Live Arcade game Shadow Complex.

Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders for “The Balverine Order”, as well as pre-orders for Fable III and the Collector’s Edition.

Fable III is set to release on October 26.
