Kinect beats the iPhone and iPad as the “Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device”
Yep, you heard it right, Microsoft’s Kinect for the Xbox 360 has been recognized as the “Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device” by the Guiness World Records. Between November 4, 2010 and January 3, 2011, the Kinect sold 8 million units which averages out to be 133,333 units per day. The Kinect for the Xbox 360 outsold popular devices such as the iPhone and iPad during the first 60 days of sale.
“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Gaz Deaves, Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records. “After extensive research, we can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
