Nintendo Downloads for 11/9

bomberman-shotThis week on Nintendo Downloads, if you aren’t one of the lucky few who was able to snag Electroplankton when it came out for the DS, well now’s your chance as Nintendo is releasing it for the DSiWare. Unfortunately, it’s being broken down into five different downloads: Trapy, Hanenbow, Rec-Rec, and Nanocarp. Trapy are five different fish that you tap and draw lines. They’ll follow the set path and will play different notes as they go along, looping at every step of the way. For any of you that have played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Hanenbow isn’t anything to be surprised about. Align leaves of a plant at different angles and when the fish hits them, they play certain sounds. Of course the higher the angle, the higher pitch the note. Rec-Rec is more of a vocal type where you actually will single, hum, whistle, talk, or just straight up blow into the microphone and it will record for up to four seconds, and there are four different fish you can use. Finally, Nanocarp will also use the microphone to create different sounds and patterns. Each Electroplankton part is only 200 Nintendo Points.

Also coming to the DSiWare, and my personal favorite of the week, is Bomberman Blitz (500 Nintendo Points). This new game in the Bomberman genre adds internet support with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as well as local play for up to eight players. For any of you who love the Bomberman experience, or is new to it, go pick it up.

On the Wii side we have Excitebike: World Rally (1,000 Nintendo Points), as an updated version to the NES classic Excitebike. It also includes four player multiplayer for both local and online. Another remake is Frogger Returns (500 Nintendo Points). The original Frogger is back in 3-D with new enemies, new levels, and even new power ups. And yes there is two player support but only localy. Finally for the WiiWare is Dragon Master Spell Caster (500 Wii Points), a game that you battle monsters, or even your friends.

And a Wii update wouldn’t be complete without any Virtual Console titles. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap (500 Nintendo Points) from the SEGA Master System and Cybernoid (500 Nintendo Points) from the Commodore 64.

For complete descriptions of these games, check out the Nintendo Press Release.
