Review – Surviving High School
The Scoop: Surviving High School by EA Mobile is addictive and brings back way too many memories of high school… some good, some bad, but all fun for $1.99.

Players can relive high school on their own terms with EA's Surviving High School for iPhone and iPod Touch. Photo: EA
The Setup: The best part, each dream of being a jock, nerd, popular kid, etc. can be relived by answering the questions posed in a certain way. Meaning, if you want to be a jock, make sure to answer yes when asked “Are you going to try out for the football team?”
Then, make sure to pump some iron during free time. However, this is not a lopsided game, which is great. Choose to workout too many times instead of doing homework and grades drop and that means daddy isn’t putting down some cashola for some new wheels.
The interactive in-game puzzles or mini-games are a complete blast. The mini-football game where players need to make quick decisions to either run or pass on offense or stop a pass or run/get a turnover on defense is a lot of fun for a game within a game.
What’s Hot:
- The ability to experience high school the way players want
- Become a jock or a nerd, a popular kid or an outsider. Change the story with each decision made
- The game is fun, addictive and takes some strategy to get where players want to be. So choose wisely.
- The game allows players to create yearbook memories with multiple people to date, tons of quiz questions, and secret scenes
- And if players don’t like it… they can play multiple times to see how things could have turned out differently
- Each week, players can download new episodes for free to find out what happens to their favorite characters as the school year continues
What’s Not:
- While challenging, the game didn’t last long enough, but it does make for a lot of fun
- A few of the mini-games were a bit too difficult to play, but maybe that was just my big thumbs
