Review – Monopoly
The Scoop: From experience, Monopoly has delivered time and time again. The new app from EA Mobile for iPhone and iPod Touch is no different.
The Setup: Overall, the game is just what I expected, nothing less than a blast. From the ability to listen to and control the iTunes music library without interrupting the game to stunning and smooth play, EA Mobile really out did itself.
Of course, the game has all the details that made it one of the world’s most best-selling games. Use the very easy and intuitive “Help Menu” if questions should arise and you’ll be buying, selling, trading and managing your way to the top in no time!
Although the “Wireless Game” option to play against a friend (or foe) on another iPhone or iPod Touch looked fun, I got caught up for awhile playing against the computer and it was a complete blast.
What’s Hot:
- Playing the iTunes music library during game play
- Smooth and seamless controls
- Shaking the device for a roll of the dice
- The computer AI is decently challenging and makes for good game play
- Play with up to four friends on the same network with WiFi and Pass n’ play and up to two people with Bluetooth Multiplayer
What’s Not:
- Icons are a bit small, but easily used
- The recommended trades are a little lopsided, but nothing a player can’t handle
Final Verdict: With easy, but challenging game play and with a small price tag of $4.99, Monopoly from EA Mobile is a blast on the couch, train, office or classroom.
