The Scoop: Linkin Park Revenge launched today to support the release of “A Thousands Suns,” the fourth studio album from the multi-platinum Linkin Park.
The Setup: Linkin Park Revenge is your classic rhythm-based game, but with a visually stunning twist… not to mention to the sick new tunes of your favorite Linkin Park hits and a few of the band’s latest tunes.
Linkin Park Revenge, available now for the iPhone and iPod touch for $4.99, features a special collection of 10 Linkin Park songs, including four from the new album, in addition to hits such as Bleed It Out, Numb and Faint.
In the game, players tap a sequence of targets as they race down the screen, racking points and unlocking special scoring bonuses and power-ups to the welcoming elements of hip-hop, modern rock, and atmospheric electornica music of Linkin Park.
The app features all new, specially designed themes based on the graphics and iconic imagery of the band. In fact, at one point a lion’s head splits into several lion’s heads and swirls around in a very trippy sequence that made me feel as if they were going to jump out of the screen. I almost dropped my iPhone.
What’s Hot:
- Unbelievable graphics
- Sweet selection of past hits and new tunes
- Controls are easy and intuitive
What’s Not:
- I can’t get enough of the music! Need more songs!
Final Verdict: Linkin Park Revenge is one of the most visually appealing, fun and addictive rhythm games available. And for $4.99, it’s a must have.
Download at the Apple App Store.
