Review – Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010

Publisher: Majesco Entertainment
Developer: 3G Studios
Platform(s): Wii
Genre: Fitness
The Scoop: Move aside Wii Fit. Majesco Entertainment and fitness guru Jillian Michaels have teamed up once again to bring fitness and calorie burning on the Nintendo Wii to a new level.
The Setup: Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 isn’t just a fitness game (if you can call it that) that has a big-named fitness star on the cover, that big-name fitness star actually helped pick and develop the 18 included exercises. Not only that, but Jillian Michaels also stars as your one-on-one coach to help teach you the movements and keep you motivated to get through each workout.
Starting off is easy as you can jump right in and use one of the pre-built circuit workouts, each targeted at different areas. Want to try something different? Go ahead and create your own circuit workouts and customize them to your needs. Only have a few minutes to spare? No problem! Select individual exercises to do and comeback for a complete workout later.
What’s Hot:
- Instead of a boring gym/fitness studio atmosphere, you get a tropical island!
- You will definitely work hard and burn calories.
- Improved motion tracking helps register movements more accurately.
- Family friendly – workout alone or get the whole family to join.
- Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 includes support for both the Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board.
- The Jillian Michaels avatar helps coach you through the movements and exercises. She is your very own personal trainer.
- Stop paying those gym fees by working out and burn calories from the comfort of your own home.
What’s Not:
- The exercises can be a bit intense, so beginners might find the exercises tough. But at the same time it provides great motivation to keep at it.
- Although the motion tracking has improved you’ll still run into a few spots where it doesn’t register like you would hope.
- To really experience all of the various exercises you need to have access to the Wii Balance Board.
Final Verdict: If you’re a Jillian Micheals fan or are serious about shredding some pounds then Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 is for you. While Wii Balance Board owners will really get to experience the full set of exercises, you can still get a great workout and results using just the Wii Remote. If you work hard and stay dedicated, Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 will help you achieve your weight loss goals.
