This controversial Dead Island trailer is NSFW… or children.

This trailer for Dead Island is sure drumming up a lot of buzz on the internet for the controversial way in which it depicts the zombification and subsequent death of a child. But truth be told if you look past that you will see one of the best video game trailers to hit the net in a long time (It’s like zombies meet Christopher Nolan), even better than the Homeland Timeline which brought a feeling of realism to it’s storyline. We still have very little to go with on what Dead Island is actually about other than zombies, some may remember the 10-15 seconds of gameplay shown off back in 2007, so if nothing has changed in the last three years we can assume it is a first person shooter with a heavy melee component akin to Left 4 Dead 2 or the long since canceled City of the Dead.

Leave a comment and let us know what you think, does this trailer push it too far? Or are people just overreacting? Also does this game remind anyone else of the old PC title Flesh Feast?

Wow, that was an amazing trailer. Movie quality in my opinion. Using the kid was a bit controversal, but i thought it helped really set the sad and desperate tone they were going for. Especially the bit at the end when you find that the kid was with them.

Agreed. Kids being killed/zombiefied is not something I like, but it does it in a very cinematic way that helps to put this game in a more serious tone. I think it was done well, and not over the top for what the content was. If the zombie kid was killed in a much more violent way it would have been too much.
