Contest – Win a Copy of Fallout: New Vegas for the PC

Another contest is at hand! This time we have a copy of the rather excellent RPG Fallout: New Vegas courtesy of Bethesda Softworks. For those who don’t know I quite enjoyed this game and consider it one of the highpoints of one of my favorite video game series (That isn’t a lie either, I have all the games, collectors editions for those that exist and have shelled out on a lot of swag and custom props) and now you lucky readers have a chance to obtain a redemption code for the Steam distribution service which will allow you to download the game.

We are again doing the contest through Facebook, all one needs to do is become a fan of Level Up News on Facebook and respond to the post mentioning the contest by answering this question…

What is your favorite book or film that depicts a post apocalyptic world?

As we all know the Fallout series is based on ideas from many of these works, so what is yours? It could be the radioactive wastleland and giant insects featured in the classic book and film Damnation Alley, the constant zombie threat from such films as Day of the Dead, the up front sexual drive from A Boy and His Dog, or just the awesomeness of The Road Warrior. There are hundred of books and movies to pick from or even pick a play, comic, or other video games, just let us know what your favorite is, there is no wrong answer.

One reader who responds will be randomly chosen and contacted with redemption information. The contest will run until Wednesday December 15th at 9pm and only one entry will be accepted per person. Good luck to all who enter.

the film? Probably Planet of the Apes (first one) or The Road. First one has strong anti-war message and the second is pretty terrifying in its bleak and ultra-realisitic portrayal of PA-theme.

My favorite depiction of a post apocalyptic world has to be either y the last man like someone had previously mentioned, or the walking dead comics. Both are engaging stories that just pull you in, and focus on the humanity of the main characters while everyone around them has been tainted.
