Level Up News and game publishers help sponsor youth baseball picnic

July marks the end of baseball season for the PNN Knights and PNN Lady Knights, a recreational youth baseball and softball league in Dundalk, MD. And today, the athletes from the PNN Knights capped off a fun and successful season with an end of the year picnic for family and friends. Each of the young athletes received an award for being part of the recreational league as well as a raffle entry to win one of many prizes.  Among the raffle prizes were video games donated by Level Up News (that’s us!), DreamCatcher Games, and XSEED Games.  With athletes ranging between the ages of 5 and 14, it’s no surprise that the video game prizes were popular and went fast.

Check out some of the pictures taken from the picnic:

About the PNN Knights

There are about 100 athletes between the PNN Knights and the PNN Lady Knights, and the teams are broken down into the following age groups:

  • Ages 5-6 (Tee ball)
  • Ages 7-8 (Two boys teams)
  • Ages 9-10 (One boys team)
  • Age 8 and under (Girls softball)
  • Age 11 and under (Girls softball)
  • Abe 14 and under (Girls softball)

The PNN Knights will be holding a Quarter Auction in the fall, and are currently accepting donations for prizes.  The money raised during the Quarter Auction will go towards equipment, uniforms, and umpire/recreational fees. If you are interested in sponsoring the PNN Knights for the 2011 baseball season, please contact us and we will forward your information to the recreational league.

Level Up News is proud to announce that they will donate video games for the upcoming Quarter Auction. Go PNN Knights!

Once again, Level Up News and the PNN Knights would like to thank DreamCatcher Games and XSEED Games for donating prizes for the raffle drawings.

Thank you to Level up News, dreamcatcher games, and xseed games for the game donations. All the children who received these prizes were very happy, and their parents were just as excited and happy with the game choices. Thank you for all your support.

As the chairperson of PNN Baseball and Softball, I would like to personally say thank you to Level Up News, DreamCatcher Games, and XSEED Games for their support this season. Without this support, we could not continue to provide this program for the kids.

I look forward to working with you all again in the coming months as years.

Go Knights! (and Level Up News, too)

I think more rec. teams should have celebrations and end of year picnics like this. It’s important for the kids to know that the parents, coaches, and sponsors recognize their hard work and achievements.

Great job Level Up News and the other sponsors! Please continue to provide coverage when you can – this is really cool.

This is the first time that I’ve heard of a video game website sponsor something for a local team. This is what we need more of people!

I agree with NumerUno, something like this is very rare but needs to happen more often. It would be great if press coverage such as this helps the team get more sponsors or even players.

@levelupnews – I am glad that your site and the video game publishers are taking part in a great event like this. I hope to see more of this in the future.

@Aaron – I am a former chair women of a recreational league and I know how much work is involved in putting an event like this together. And not only that, but getting such great sponsors to participate isn’t necessarily a walk in the park. Great job.
