Level Up News Review Star System
When it comes to our reviews, our editors and staff writers follow these guidelines below. Anything we review on this site starts out with an automatic three-star rating, and from there can either gain or lose stars. We strive to be as objective as possible and ensure everything we review has justifiable reasons for earning the score it does.
Five Stars = MADE OF WIN! Run out right now and buy this!
Four Stars = It has a lot of good qualities and is better than most games, but had just enough errors/lack of features to prevent it from reaching epic win status.
Three Stars = The game is neither good nor bad. Rent it or wait for a sale if you really want to play it.
Two Stars = This is not the game you’re looking for. Move along, move along…
One Star = EPIC FAIL! We’re pretty sure this game was made solely as a tax write-off and will soon be buried in the desert along with all the unsold copies of E.T. for the Atari 2600.
No Stars = Well…we warned you. Play this at your own risk!
Reviews may feature a half star rating. In those cases, per the discretion of the reviewer, the game didn’t quite earn the full star above it or the full star below. Justifications for the half-star rating are found within the review.
