The Scoop: Namco’s Knightfall: Death and Taxes will easily have users dawning cloaks and daggers, reaching for ye gobbler and playing this addicting game until the wee hours of the morn. Thieves have stolen all of Knight and Princess’ wealth and the “Taxman” is after them. Help them get out alive.
The Setup: This matching puzzler is more than just a puzzler. It’s a fun-filled, block-blasting, addictive ball o’ fun. Users maneuver around the game board by drilling away groups of blocks while rotating the entire play area. The rotation feature is really a great add as it brings a new dimension to what normally is just a two-thumb job.
The purpose is to blast through the blocks, grab the key and exit. Oh, if it were just that easy. Of course, if it was that easy, it probably wouldn’t have had me coming back, and back, and back again.
Monsters will attack if the player gets to close. If this does happen, the villains must be dealt with before the user can proceeds safely. Each foe that falls awards the user with experience and yields gold which can be spent in the Fairy Shop.
A Few Tips:
- Knight attacks what he lands on while Princess attacks what lands non her
- Drilling groups of less than three blocks will take a quick toll on action points
- Select an enemy to reveal that enemy’s attack range and stay out of those spaces to avoid damage
- Line enemies up to defeat multiple at one time
What’s Hot:
- Play as both Knight and Princess, each with unique abilities
- Face off against dozens of fearsome foes and all new bosses
- Gain new abilities as foes fall
- More than 100 stages in story mode
- Discover new shops for armor, magic, potions and more
What’s Not:
- I bit tricky to control puzzle, but once you’ve battled yourself through one, you’ll be good to go
Final Verdict: A huge collection of levels, challenging gameplay and purchasable items from the Fairy Shop make Knightfall: Death and Taxes an easy download.
Download at the Apple App Store.
